Connection Point 06/15

Man goes out to his work and to his labor until evening. –Psalm 104:23 (CSB)

Verses like these (and much of the book of Ecclesiastics) seem so raw. So many times I am guilty of just pushing through things (days) just to “get it over with,” completely letting days/weeks/months/years pass by that I subconsciously know God has given me.

You were created to bring glory to God, therefore what you do matters. The above verse is a part of the larger chapter that speaks to the soverign work of our creator God in creation and how He works and provides for each of them. There is not a second wasted. Clearly, the rising and setting of the sun matter. The rising and setting of the moon sets the table for a whole host of activity, even while many of us sleep. Every day matters. Every night matters. Each serve a purpose. Not a second is wasted. What you do matters today.

Since we were created to bring God glory and since what we do matters, let’s not forget that in the midst of the details of our day. You working? Don’t waste it, bring God glory. You walking? running? exercising? Bring Him glory. You having a conversation with you husband/wife/child? He has a purpose, bring Him glory. You suffering? Groan, knowing it brings Him glory (Romans 8:18-39) It’s about perspective. Since we were created to bring God glory and since what we do matters, He doesn’t waste a moment. Neither should you. Neither should I.
